Many things happened simultaneously to cause me to drop the camera – to go blind to my own life. One of the most devastating was switching to a new camera and processing system at the same time. It’s amazing how much a creature of habit I was with the old tool. It was as more like an extension of my hand/eye than a tool, really and losing it felt like an amputation or blinding. I do love the new camera, it’s just that it doesn’t operate exactly like the old one and requires me to spend some time getting to know it. That is what this daily image will be: to begin to see again and to begin to grow closer to the tool that captures that vision.
